The Arunachal Pradesh government has reconstituted the State Women Commission, appointing Yalem Taga Burang as its new chairperson. The announcement was made via a notification from the Department of Women and Child Development, marking the formation of the commission’s seventh body. Tsering Dolma was named vice-chairperson, with Kipa Kaya Rughu, Kotu Bui, Aben Mije, and Techi Nikhi Yab as members. Their roles will be governed by the APSCW Act and related rules. The commission is crucial for women’s rights and empowerment in the state. Burang’s appointment has been widely welcomed due to her dedication to women’s welfare.
