Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma inaugurated the revamped Williamson Sangma Meghalaya State Museum in Shillong, featuring modern technology like QR-based exhibits and interactive displays to showcase the state’s cultural heritage. Emphasizing the museum’s role in preserving identity and promoting a creative economy, he announced plans for similar museums in other regions, starting with Tura. Sangma also shared research findings on traditional Garo games and ancient sites. A commemorative stamp honoring Captain Williamson Sangma was released. The event, held on Samvidhan Hatya Diwas, also highlighted the importance of constitutional freedoms and the museum’s evolution as a cultural symbol since 2018.
