For the first time, Parliamentarians will mark attendance digitally starting the Monsoon Session on July 21. Lok Sabha members will use tablets installed on their desks to register attendance, replacing the current manual system at entry points. This move aims to reduce delays caused by long queues and ensure MPs don't sign in and leave without attending. Initially launched as a pilot in the Lok Sabha, members can choose between digital and manual methods. If successful, digital attendance may become permanent. The Monsoon Session will run from July 21 to August 12, as announced by Minister Kiren Rijiju.
