A recent bird survey in Kaziranga National Park confirmed the presence of 43 grassland bird species, including rare ones like the Swamp Prinia, Bristled Grassbird, and Rufous-rumped Grassbird. The most exciting rediscovery was the Finn’s Weaver, or Tukura Soray, known for its intricate nests. These sightings indicate the revival of Kaziranga’s fragile floodplain grasslands. Birdwatchers and ecologists celebrated the return of these "grassland ghosts," calling it a sign of ecological health. Kaziranga, famous for large wildlife, also shelters rare grassland birds, reaffirming its role as a sanctuary for both iconic and overlooked species in India’s biodiversity.
