The Passport Seva Mobile Van for the Northeast was launched in Guwahati by Dr. KJ Srinivasa, Joint Secretary and Chief Passport Officer, MEA. Operated under RPO Guwahati, the van will serve remote rural areas, allowing citizens to complete passport application processes easily. Currently, six Passport Seva Kendras and 19 Post Office PSKs serve six northeastern states. One van has been allotted to each of India’s 37 RPOs. Dr. Srinivasa interacted with key stakeholders, inspected facilities, and met the Governor and CM of Assam, who appreciated the ministry’s efficient, transparent, and citizen-friendly approach to passport service delivery.
