Chief of Defence Staff Anil Chauhan revealed that some Pakistani drones used during May's four-day conflict with India were found intact, suggesting they may have malfunctioned. These drones were sent in retaliation for Operation Sindoor, launched after the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Chauhan stated that the unarmed drones and loitering munitions caused no damage and praised India's indigenous weapon systems. He emphasized self-reliance, warning against dependence on foreign technologies. Notably, India’s Akashteer and its advanced Akash NG missile played a key role in neutralizing drone threats, demonstrating the importance of domestic innovation for national security and operational readiness.
