Justice Ashutosh Kumar Appointed as Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court

Justice Ashutosh Kumar has been appointed Chief Justice of the Gauhati High Court as part of a major judicial reshuffle approved by President Droupadi Murmu. The July 11 order elevated five High Court judges and transferred four Chief Justices. Justice Kumar previously served as acting Chief Justice of the Patna High Court. Other new appointments include Justices Sanjeev Sachdeva (Madhya Pradesh), Vibhu Bakhru (Karnataka), Vipul Pancholi (Patna), and Tarlok Singh Chauhan (Jharkhand). Transfers include Justices Shrivastava (Madras), Singh (Telangana), Rao (Tripura), and Shriram (Rajasthan). Justices Lanusungkum Jamir and Suman Shyam were transferred from Gauhati to Calcutta and Bombay HCs respectively.
