Tripura royal scion and founder of the Tipra Motha Party, Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, has strongly denounced recent statements made by prominent leaders from neighbouring countries in the wake of the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, has sparked nationwide outrage and sorrow. Pradyot, known for his forthright political stance, did not hold back in calling for a firm and assertive response from India.

In a powerful message shared on social media and later echoed in the press, Pradyot stated, “Silence doesn’t bring justice, and fear doesn’t build peace.” He urged the Indian government to respond with clarity and purpose to both the terror attack and the provocative rhetoric coming from leaders in Pakistan and Bangladesh. “India must and should respond,” he emphasized, noting that the country cannot afford to remain passive in the face of continued threats and inflammatory remarks.

Pradyot’s comments were particularly directed at the military establishment in Pakistan and key advisors within the Bangladeshi government. “The language of the leaders in our neighbouring countries—be it the Army General of Pakistan or the Chief Advisor of the government of Bangladesh—is simply unacceptable,” he said. His remarks come amid a tense regional atmosphere, where India’s relationship with its neighbours continues to be tested on various geopolitical and security fronts.

He also raised concerns about the absence of democratic accountability among these foreign leaders. “Ironically, they both are not answerable to the voters in their country,” Pradyot pointed out, referring to the unelected positions held by such figures, which he believes allow them to make provocative statements without any public consequence. According to him, this lack of electoral responsibility is a significant obstacle to peace and stability in the region.

Pradyot’s stance reflects a broader sentiment within India that seeks a more proactive and assertive foreign policy, especially in response to terrorism and regional hostility. His call for action resonates with those who believe that India's growing global stature must be matched with a resolute and uncompromising stance on national security.

He further emphasized the need for a united national front in the face of such tragedies. “At a time when our nation is mourning the loss of innocent lives, unity and resolve must guide our response,” he said. He urged political leaders across the spectrum to put aside differences and collectively address both internal security challenges and external provocations.

As India continues to assess the implications of the Pahalgam attack, voices like Pradyot’s underscore the urgency of a strategic recalibration—one that prioritizes national security, holds adversaries accountable, and ensures that acts of terror do not go unanswered. His statement stands as both a critique of external actors and a clarion call for internal cohesion and strength.
