MY Bharat, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, has called upon the youth of Tripura to register as Civil Defence Volunteers in order to enhance the state’s emergency response system. This initiative is part of a broader national campaign designed to prepare communities for crises such as natural disasters, accidents, and other emergencies. MY Bharat officials have stressed the importance of creating a trained civilian force that can assist authorities during times of distress.

Bimal Patrick Shah, the State Director of MY Bharat in Tripura, emphasized that the program’s objective is to develop a well-equipped and responsive volunteer force capable of performing critical tasks, including rescue and evacuation, first aid, traffic and crowd management, ensuring public safety, and post-disaster rehabilitation. He encouraged the youth of India to step forward and join the movement, highlighting the role of young people in safeguarding and serving the nation during times of need.

Given the rising frequency of both natural and man-made disasters in India, MY Bharat is intensifying its efforts to recruit and train volunteers who are capable of responding swiftly and effectively during emergencies. The initiative is not only focused on disaster management but also aims to instill a sense of civic responsibility among youth, equipping them with life-saving skills that can be crucial in saving lives during crises.

The program encourages young citizens to register online via MY Bharat’s official portal at https://mybharat.gov.in. The organization is reaching out to both existing volunteers and new recruits, aiming to build a strong cadre of individuals ready to respond in times of emergency.

In summary, MY Bharat is actively working to strengthen the emergency response framework in Tripura and across India by mobilizing young volunteers. The program seeks to build a trained force that can contribute to various emergency operations, including disaster relief and public safety, while fostering a culture of responsibility and readiness among the youth. This initiative not only addresses the need for an effective disaster response system but also empowers youth by providing them with essential skills to protect and serve their communities in times of crisis.
